GET SORTED - WHO WE ARE
Get Sorted (Support On Relevant Training and Education about Drugs) is part of Rhondda Cynon Taf's Education and Lifelong Learning directorate and has been established since 2004. Get Sorted aims to create and support the necessary infrastructure and co-ordination to facilitate the work of a range of organisations in the provision of consistent and effective Substance Misuse Education to young people up to the age of 25 across Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Get Sorted focuses on increasing the knowledge and confidence of education providers in formal and informal settings in order to improve the substance misuse education experiences of children and young people. In order to achieve this aim Get Sorted provides bilingual teaching resources along with guidelines for substance misuse education and incident management in schools and in youth centres, supported by tailor made training packages and ad hoc advice.
The Get Sorted team is managed by the Substance Misuse Education Coordinator for Rhondda Cynon Taf and consists of Substance Misuse Education Officers, Substance Misuse Education Support Officers and a Project Support and Administrative Officer.
Professionals
Get Sorted can provide support for professionals in the form of documentation, training and continuous support encompassing professional practice, policy, procedures for incident management, education guidance and signposting to established networks of service providers.
